We're looking at a week or so until the release of 002. Just a few bugs to squash and things to change, as you can see from our internal test log. I think you're all going to enjoy Sp3ctre's new ic_mine map; it's really starting to look great. Here's a little shot to whet your appetite:

Forums fixed. It was my fault, simple hack. No PHP exploit or anything complicated: I just had global write permission on some of the folders. Nothing big.

Anyways, this isn't the post you're looking for. You can go about your business. Move along.

Spambots have compromised the forums and until I get home and can restore the pages they corrupted, as well as block off the entrypoint they used, the forums will remain offline.

Okay, so we probably won't be doing quad miniguns in Into Cerberon (I think the collision, decal, and netcode engines might have simultaneous heart attacks), but a man can dream, can't he?

Check out the rest of the gallery for some other shots I uploaded recently.

Spectre has been busy modelling up the weapon pickups for IC 0.0.2, which will have both the Minigun and the Plasma Cannon.

Click for larger versions, naturally! And be sure to give Spectre a little feedback through the moddb comments system.

Incidentally, in "other" news, IC 0.0.1 surpassed 1000 downloads sometime last week - frankly, I'm floored by the enthusiasm for our first version. With the bugfixes and enhancements coming in 0.0.2 (not to mention packaging all three OS libraries into one archive) I hope to top that.

Bet you're getting a little tired of all these releases of what is essentially the same version of Into Cerberon, eh?

I really do apologize to the Mac and Linux fans out there, I really had no idea people would be so eager to play something that we ourselves considered buggy and merely a play-test. As a result of seeing many ":(" smilies in e-mails and on IRC, we rushed into production a Linux version of IC 0.0.1 to satisfy the penguins among us:

Download Into Cerberon 0.0.1 'Coal' (Linux) from moddb
Download Into Cerberon 0.0.1 'Coal' (Linux) from Doom 3 Files
Download Into Cerberon 0.0.1 'Coal' (Linux) from 3DDownloads
Download Into Cerberon 0.0.1 'Coal' (Linux) from Doom Wad Station

Everyone please note, that because everyone's on a separate package, you will probably not be able to connect to players on a different system than your own (no Linux<->Mac<->Windows play). Rest assured that all future releases of IC will include all three binaries, to eliminate this confusion and to allow everyone to play together!

The Macintosh version of Into Cerberon 0.0.1 is now available. Thanks to Strider of ApplCrypt for compiling the Mac binary; you could say that his "reward" for doing so was being the first Mac owner to play IC ;).

"We have grown, but there is still much to be done. Many that live in darkness must be shown the way. For it is the dawning of a new day."

The IC team is pleased to announce the release of the first play-test version of our mod, Into Cerberon 0.0.1, codenamed "Coal". This playable test includes two maps, the Pyro model, lasers, missiles, the minigun, and plenty of bugs.

Click the huge "IC 0.0.1 Coal" image above to download (17 MB). Doom³ version 1.3 is required to play; the expansion pack is not needed. Instructions are included in the ZIP file. Iceheart is presently running a server at, simply type "connect" in the console to join. For more help, bug reports, server lists, and more, visit the forums thread about the release!

Be aware that this is a play-test release and barely qualifies even as an alpha version. There are tons of bugs and lots of stuff is unimplemented, but we thought everyone would enjoy having at least a little something to sink their teeth into for the holiday season (admittedly, the tail end thereof...).

I know everyone's anticipating version 0.0.1 (codenamed "Coal") but since we'd like you to be able to actually PLAY it with other people, as opposed to merely zipping around all by yourself, we're taking some extra time to fix up some crash and synchronization bugs that are present when playing IC multiplayer.

We anticipate a reasonably stable, works-in-multiplayer, version tomorrow (New Year's Day). Sorry for the delay.

The title pretty much says it all. Koroshiya_Ichi has posted up an interview with the IC team over on moddb. Two pages and fifteen questions answered by the whole team await you. Give it a look-see for answers to your questions about IC!
