A number of people have helped me out with writing the Mandrake stories, and this page serves to list them as a sort of Hall of Fame. Names are in alphabetical order.
For letting me know when stuff gets either boring, hard-to-read (*cough*Meer-Khaii*cough*), or funny, as well as pointing out when Isa steps out of character
For proving that just because you don't like fantasy, have no clue about Dungeons & Dragons, and are also uncomfortable with the whole concept of Dragons having sex, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy stories based precisely on those things.
For being one of the first readers of the stories, and for pointing out tons of little grammar and spelling mistakes, despite the fact that I didn't help him that much with his *own* stories. Also for representing the MPAA (in-joke) in assigning PG-13 ratings to some of the episodes.
King of Nod v2.0
The following says it all:
<HeXetic|Mandrake> I need some naming assistance
<HeXetic|Mandrake> Wood elf male
<KoN_v2> Leaf Dude.
<KoN_v2> It just rolls off the tounge, no?
<HeXetic|Mandrake> I said wood elf male, not pot smoker
<KoN_v2> Oh, fire up Morrowind, plenty of "original" names there.
<KoN_v2> No one will notice where you got it from, since they are all so strange.
For inspiring the Meer-Khaii character as well as generally being a yes-man and bootlicker. Thanks to him, my boots are shiny beyond belief! Also thanks for doing some medium pimpin' on the stories.
<LandHawk> "Jerald the Frost Giant"
<LandHawk> Eh, I'm not really feeling it.
<LandHawk> "Jerald From Accounting" maybe.
For pointing out the hideous flaws in the characterization of Isacharact in the original versions of "The Courtship of Lady Isa" and "The Return, and the King" as well as providing insight into the operation of the main characters' sexual relationship.
For his assistance in renaming LandHawk's existing "Mirkai" character into the far superior and, let's face it, sexier, Meer-Khaii.
Because we would never get anything done in #planetcnc without incessant questioning about ZoneAlarm and its larger, more evil brother, Zone Alarm Pro. Also for continually and repeatedly trumpeting the merits of River City Ransom.
Just think. Give me some feedback yourself and you, too, could be on this list.
